Rometron is the innovative company behind WEED-IT precision spraying. Founded in Wageningen, The Netherlands, by Roel de Jonge, its story began in 1997 when Roel graduated from Wageningen University & Research (WUR) with a thesis on spot-spraying technology. Recognising its enormous potential, he established Rometron and began commercialising the technology under the WEED-IT name in 1999.

From the beginning, Rometron and WEED-IT have shared a clear focus – helping farmers and contractors achieve significant savings in crop protection chemicals. By precisely targeting weeds, WEED-IT technology reduces input costs, helps eliminate weed seed banks, and maximises valuable soil moisture for crops. It also plays a vital role in reducing the risk of herbicide resistance and minimising agriculture’s environmental footprint.
