Ben Tarrant of Darling Downs Precision in Dalby is the local Rometron Australia WEED-IT representative specialising in retrofitting farmers existing sprayers. At a recent information night held at the Loudoun Street premises in Dalby Ben spoke of the capabilities of WEED-IT supported by Rometron Australia's Neill Morey. In particular focussing on addressing the weed management needs of Darling Downs farmers. Soon to arrive at his Loudoun Street premises is the BA 18 metre 3PL sprayer fitted with WEED-IT. Ben outlined the benefits of this 18 metre rig to the growers requiring narrow transport widths.
Neill Morey touched on the 25 year milestone of WEED-IT with the technology invented in The Netherlands originally for spraying pavement weeds now clocking up reduced chemical usage of 30 million litres of herbicide worldwide. The ability to spot spray using chlorophyl fluorescence technology as well as the option of blanket spraying with PWM and also dual mode functionality.
